Toothache - For toothache, floss your teeth and rinse your mouth with warm water to take out the dirt. Apply a cold compress to your cheek to prevent swelling. Avoid using pain killer gels near the aching tooth, so you don't burn your gums and increase pain. Contact your dentist immediately.
Chipped / Broken teeth - Retain any remaining pieces of teeth and rinse very well. Use warm water to rinse your mouth and apply gauze if necessary to stop the injured tooth area from bleeding. Apply a cold compress to your cheek to prevent swelling and relieve pain. Schedule an appointment with an emergency dentist.
Partially dislodged tooth - Hold a cold compress against your cheek to soothe the pain. If necessary, take over-the-counter pain killers. You can also consult our dentist.
Lost crown - Schedule an emergency dentist appointment and come along with the crown. If you can, apply dental cement to the inner part of the crown and try to position it over the tooth.
Lost filling - As a first aid, get a dental temporary filling material from a chemist or use sugar-free chewing gum to bridge the cavity. You'll get your filling replaced during your emergency appointment.
Object stuck between teeth - Try removing the object carefully with dental floss. Otherwise, see your dentist immediately.
Abscesses - These are serious infections that develop under teeth and spread if not treated. Rinse mouth with salt water to ease pain and draw the pus to the surface. If you're experiencing any painful swelling, contact our dentist in Cannock at once.
Soft tissue injuries - Bleeding from injuries to the gums, lips, tongue, and cheeks needs urgent dental care. Rinse your mouth with salt water to soothe the pain. Apply gauze to the injured site for 15 to 20 minutes. A hot compress can also help.
